The short answer

Choose Sourcescrub if your team wants a data platform to find, track and contact companies itself, with contact details, CRM integrations and an API, and your search reaches beyond Central and Eastern Europe.

Choose M&A Radar if your targets are in the 11 CEE countries and you want us to approach the owners in our own name, in their language and without naming you.

A different approach

Both help buyers find private companies. They work in different ways.

How M&A Radar works

  1. You set criteria.Countries, subsectors (101 in 19 sector groups), revenue, EBITDA, headcount, growth trend and shareholder structure. You can also describe the target in plain words and add special requirements, which are checked against each company’s own website.
  2. You see the anonymised market.Matching companies, not only those for sale. Each card shows bands from filed annual accounts, what the company does and, where enough comparable deals exist, an indicative price range. Missing data is marked unverified, not hidden. A search that has been run before shows at once; a new one is prepared by our operator, and you get an email within one business day.
  3. You mark companies. After you sign the buyer agreement. The companies you mark form your target list, and we approach their owners. If we decline one, we tell you.
  4. Our operator approaches the owners. In their language, in our own name, without naming you. Owners are contacted only after you mark their companies.
  5. The company’s name is disclosed once the owner agrees.Your name is given to the owner only with your consent. Then come meetings, LOI, due diligence and closing, with your own advisers.

When Sourcescrub is the better choice

Sourcescrub is the better fit in these cases, based on what its website describes:

  • You need coverage far beyond CEE. M&A Radar works only in 11 CEE countries. Sourcescrub’s home page describes a dataset of 17 million companies.
  • Your team runs its own outreach. You want contact details, exports, CRM sync, an API or a data feed. Its website describes all of these.
  • You source around conferences and industry lists. Its website describes conference planning and an on-demand data team with 24-hour list processing and enrichment.
  • You want named companies from day one. Its website describes company profiles you can score, track and get alerts on. M&A Radar shows no names before the owner agrees.
  • You are an adviser or consultant, not an acquirer. Sourcescrub lists investment banking and consulting among its solutions. M&A Radar is open to buyers only.

When M&A Radar fits

  • Your targets are in the 11 CEE countries.
  • The owners you want are not actively selling.
  • You need a local-language approach to the owner.
  • You do not want to be named when an owner is first approached.
  • You want us to make the approach to the owner, in our own name.

Using both

This can make sense. A team could use Sourcescrub for screening and its own outreach in markets it covers directly, and M&A Radar for the owner approach in the 11 CEE countries. We approach only companies you mark on M&A Radar, so a CEE target needs to appear in your M&A Radar search. If you already know the company and are happy to contact the owner in your own name, you may not need us.

We cannot confirm how far Sourcescrub’s data reaches into CEE: the pages we reviewed do not list the countries it covers.

According to grata.com, Sourcescrub is now part of Datasite and its data and capabilities will be integrated into Grata. When we checked, some Sourcescrub product pages led to grata.com, so plans and features may change. See also M&A Radar vs Grata.

FAQ

What is the main difference between M&A Radar and Sourcescrub?

Who makes the approach. According to its website, Sourcescrub is a deal sourcing platform your team uses to find, track and contact companies. With M&A Radar you see the anonymised market in 11 CEE countries, and our operator approaches the owners you mark, without naming you.

Is M&A Radar a database or a marketplace?

Neither. It is target origination for buyers: you see companies that match your criteria, anonymised, whether or not they are for sale, and we approach the owners of the companies you mark, in our own name. It is not a data subscription, and it is not a list of companies for sale.

Which countries do you cover, and does Sourcescrub cover them too?

We cover Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia. A search with no country selected covers all 11. The Sourcescrub pages we reviewed in October 2026 do not list the countries it covers, so ask Sourcescrub directly about its depth there.

Will the owner know who I am, and when?

We approach the owner without naming you, and describe you only in terms you have approved. You learn the company’s name once the owner agrees to disclose it. Your name is given to the owner only with your consent. With Sourcescrub, your own team contacts companies, so you decide what to share.

Where do the financial figures come from?

From filed annual accounts, shown as bands, not exact figures. Missing data is marked unverified, not hidden. Where the accounts we hold show no depreciation (all of Lithuania and Latvia, and some companies elsewhere), we show operating margin instead of EBITDA, and any price range based on it is a floor. The indicative price range is an enterprise value, before net debt: it applies EV/EBITDA multiples from completed control deals with targets in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland, pooled by sector group, to the latest filed year’s earnings. It appears only where enough comparable deals exist and earnings are positive. It is not a valuation.

Can I use Sourcescrub and M&A Radar together?

Yes. Sourcescrub can cover your own screening and outreach. M&A Radar covers the owner approach in the 11 CEE countries, for companies you mark on our platform.

How are fees set?

Our fees are paid by the buyer and set out in the buyer agreement, which you sign before we contact any owner.
