ARS Holding notifies takeover of Latvian private clinic operator Medicīnas sabiedrība ARS

On 13 October 2026 the Latvian Competition Council received a notification from SIA ARS Holding on acquiring decisive influence over SIA Medicīnas sabiedrība ARS; the Council published it on 15 October. The Council describes ARS Holding and its related companies as active in investment management and private equity, with a portfolio spanning IT and business-process digitalisation, healthcare services in Estonia, design and manufacture of composite structures, the oil, gas and aquaculture sectors, reusable fabric and paper shopping bags, unified communications and cloud telephony, and heating and cooling equipment in the Baltic and Nordic region, as well as telecoms and internet services in Lithuania. ARS is a private medical company operating only in Latvia, offering specialist consultations, surgery, prevention, outpatient and day-hospital treatment, emergency care, rehabilitation and dentistry. According to the notification, the parties do not operate in the same market in Latvia. Comments are invited until 23 October 2026; the Council must decide within one month of notification, extendable to three months. The seller and terms were not disclosed.

Our take The overlap test passes on geography: the buyer's group already runs healthcare, but in Estonia, so in Latvia this is a first clinical asset rather than consolidation. A multi-sector holding taking control of a full-service private clinic — from specialist visits to day surgery and dentistry — is a buyer profile likely to appear more often in Baltic private healthcare.
